Reviews:

The is a good little booklet (about 4x6")with about 150 pages of phrases commonly in use during the eye examination. It easily fits into a pocket and can be consulted before or during an examination for the phrase you may need. The sections are organized sequentially as the procedures done during the eye examination in the order salutations, history taking, visual acuity, binocularity testing, refraction etc. This makes it a bit easier to look up a phrase as you need it during the course of the exam.I find the book useful and yet hope for two improvements. One would be to have tabs for each section to make for quick and easy access to the sections. I have only had a bit of spanish studies and can do fairly well but still found patients staring at me without comprehension after I read a phrase from the book undoubtably due to my poor pronunciation. An accompaning CD with the spoken phrases from the book would be helpful. This book is still an excellent value and I would recommend it.

I was basically looking for a book that had basic Spanish terms to get through an exam (i.e. up, down, left right). This book is small enough to fit in your pocket and has phrases & sentences to ask basic questions without the patient having to respond except with a yes or no response! Broken down into dialoges to follow each any aspect of exam (visual fields, slit lamp, tonometry, ocular disease findings, spectacle recommendations). I can now recommend progressives, CLs or anything else without a blank look from the patient! Now my Hispanic population recommend me to their friends & family!

This book goes step-by-step with phrases for each part of the eye exam. I use it almost every day since my patient base is mostly Hispanic. Haven't come across any other book like it for eyecare.
